Legian, just to the north of Kuta, offers a wide selection of Legian accommodation, such as Legian Bali hotels and resorts, shops, restaurants and nightspots. Most of the hotels in Legian Bali and many Legian villas are located in the area along the beach, as well as on both sides of the main road, Jalan Legian and in between. Starting at the end of Kuta Beach Road, a pedestrian walkway runs along the beach, passing several five-star beach resorts and other Bali Legian hotels, until ending at Jalan Double Six or Jalan Arjuna, with what was probably Bali`s most well-known night club, Double Six. Sadly, this "icon" of Bali nightlife closed its doors in mid 2011 to make way for a new hotel development. An era has come to an end! Various restaurants and clubs are found along this beach called Legian Beach or Ocean Blue Beach. This is a great place to have breakfast, staying for lunch, enjoying the sunset and then start partying right there or continuing further north towards Seminyak. There are a number of smaller shops and eateries along Jalan Arjuna, which leads from the beach back to Jalan Raya Seminyak. This road can be considered the "border" between Legian (to the south) and Seminyak (to the north). A more recent development in the Legian area has been in Jalan Dewi Sri. This road connects the Istana Kuta Galeria shopping and office area with Sunset Road. Several smaller, condominium-style hotels have sprung up here. This location is ideal for business travellers and for those who are looking for good budget accommodation in Bali. It`s close to Kuta and Legian, as well as easy to get to the larger roads leading to Denpasar, Seminyak, Sanur, Jimbaran and Nusa Dua.
